Teaching and Scholarly Interests: Information Technology
Dr Eric Woo received both his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Engineering and his Master of Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from McGill University in Canada. To solidify his profession in the education arena, Dr Woo completed his Doctor of Education degree from University of Western Australia in Australia, with his research focusing on information technology education.
Before devoting his career to education, Dr Woo had previously worked for years in a multinational technology company as a Senior Design Engineer, specialising in microchip design and application. He was a lecturer in the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, teaching higher diploma and diploma programmes in the Department of Information and Electronics Engineering. In addition, he was also a lecturer in Hong Kong Baptist University, teaching post-graduate programmes as well as Upper-intermediate Level Information Technology (UIT) certificate courses in education for serving teachers.
Dr Woo’s expertise resides in information technology, multimedia and networking, electronics design and application, as well as computer engineering. He is also a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
